A hot spot for Suyuk Jeongol (Boiled Pork Hot Pot) and Ppyeo-gui (Grilled Bones) dinner gatherings in Euljiro
Euljiro Golsu
When I get off work, I always feel hungry and crave a simple drink.
I remembered a restaurant called Euljiro Golsu, famous for its delicious Ppyeo-haejangguk (pork back-bone soup) at lunchtime. I was curious about their dinner menu, so I decided to make it our dinner meeting spot.

From the dinner menu, we ordered the two dishes I wanted to try the most: ‘Suyuk Jeongol’ (Boiled Pork Hot Pot) and ‘Ppyeo-gui’ (Grilled Bones).

Perhaps because we ordered dinner, they served us some Ppyeo-haejangguk (bone soup) on the house.

The ‘Suyuk Jeongol’ arrived, and I understood why it was called a ‘Jeongol’ (hot pot)—a warm broth was simmering gently beneath the boiled pork slices.

These are the ‘sujebi’ (hand-pulled dough) ingredients that come with the hot pot. After you finish eating the pork, you tear the dough and add it to the broth below.

We also ordered ‘Gyeran-jjim’ (Steamed Egg) as a side. It came topped with a net of cheddar cheese, adding a rich, savory flavor.
Everything on the dinner menu at Euljiro ‘Golsu’ was delicious that day.
